Shri Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, SCR Reviews Monsoon Preparedness of the Zone

Shri Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, South Central Railway, conducted a detailed review meeting on the monsoon preparedness and safety measures being undertaken across the zone in view of monsoon rains on 02nd July, 2025 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, along with Shri Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR, and Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) / Additional Divisional Railway Managers and Divisional Engineers (ADRMs) of the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Nanded also participated in the meeting through video conference.

During the review, Shri Mathur laid primary focus on safety measures undertaken at identified vulnerable sections such as bridges, tunnels, etc. He reviewed the availability of emergency equipment and reserve stocks of necessary materials like sand, boulders, and pipes in case of any eventuality. He instructed the officials to conduct regular inspections and ensure round-the-clock monitoring at vulnerable sections and bridges. He also emphasized that repair works, if any, should be completed immediately.

He further reviewed the safety measures undertaken at vulnerable Road Under Bridges which are prone to water logging. He took stock of the precautions taken like provision of lifting barriers, drainage works, warning board provision, water pumping arrangements, 24x7 watchman availability, etc. Officials and staff were advised to strictly adhere to safe working practices, maintain proper registers pertaining to train operations, and undertake all necessary monsoon precautions.

It was also stressed that all supervisors should constantly monitor field-level activity and any issue should be attended to instantly and rectified at the earliest. Officials were further advised to regularly sensitize safety category staff through group meetings, individual counseling sessions, etc.
