As India celebrated the 11ᵗʰ International Day of Yoga (IDY), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) nationwide reaffirmed their commitment to holistic health and social responsibility. Among them, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) stood out with a dynamic, inclusive campaign that reimagined yoga's role in public life.
The centerpiece was Yoga Sangam, held at the CISF Ground in JNPA Township, drawing over 10,000 participants, including employees, CISF personnel, PPP operators, FSSAI officials, students, and local citizens. Led by the RRAP-CARI team, the event showcased yoga’s power to unite and energize communities.
JNPA’s celebration extended across multiple days and formats. Harit Yoga, aligned with World Environment Day, linked ecological awareness with yogic mindfulness. Yoga Unplugged introduced school students to wellness through interactive, age-appropriate sessions. Yoga Mahakumbh gathered educators, families, and residents, with sessions also held at the Skill Development Centre in Belapur and the JNPA Administration Building, focusing on stress management and capacity building.
Emphasizing inclusivity, Yoga Samavesh engaged differently-abled individuals in customized sessions, fostering empowerment and empathy. A major highlight was the inauguration of a dedicated Yoga Park, providing township residents with a permanent space for daily practice—marking a shift toward sustained wellness integration.
On a global note, Yoga Connect featured Indian participants and international faculty from the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, highlighting yoga’s cross-cultural appeal and diplomatic potential.
Other PSUs also played a key role. NBCC and CONCOR organized multi-location Yoga Mahakumbh events, further amplifying IDY 2025’s reach.
Through these initiatives, JNPA and India’s PSUs are setting a benchmark in embedding wellness into public service—advancing not only infrastructure, but also community well-being and social harmony.
